Chunjie--What chinese will do during Chinese New Year ?

Chunjie--The Spring Festival is the biggest holiday for Chinese all over the world. It seems like Christmas for the westen. The difference is that the Spring Festival is counted by the lunar year.

There are something people will do during Chunjie.

1.Reunion Dinner--Stay with his family and have dinner.
Chunjie means reunion for Chinese, and it is very important for Chinese to rush home and have dinner together with his family. It seems one thing must do. If China, you can see lots of people buy tickets to his hometown before Chunjie.

2. Hongbao--Prepare some gifts for his family.
Chunjie is the begainning of a new year and people think they should have something new, for example, new clothes, new shoes, and so on. And they think wear new clothes means lucky.
Hongbao is a feature of Chunjie. Hongbao is a small red paper pocket with cash inside. Elder should give Hongbao to little boys. It is said that receiving Hongbao means the little boy become more stronger now and will long live.

 
3. Bainian-Visit friends and relatives.
People are busy most of the time but during Chunjie everyone has time and they visit friends and relagtives. For a newly married couple, they will vist both parts' relatives.

4. Pasting Spring Couplets, setting off firecrackers

The both are must. People think Spring Couplets and setting off firecrackers can drive out evil spirits. It means every people in the family is healthy. But, if someone died during the past year, his family don't pasting Spring Couplets in the next three years to show the family's memory for him.

When you are setting firecrackers, the firecrackers broken to pieces one by one. Chinese think it means Sui Sui Ping An-- peace all year round.  Setting firecrackers is welcomed by children. If you send one child some firecrackers he must be very glad. Of course, please be careful when you setting firecrackers.

 
5. Miaohui---Temple Fair
If you stay in China during the new year, you should not miss Temple Fair. Cause you can find a lot of interesting things here, and it is a good time to know the Chinese culture. There always lots of artistes show you their stunts, which will impress you.
